TEULADÍ BLANC RECOVERY PROYECT OF MINOR OLD GRAPES VARIETIES IN SPAIN.

Location: Finca Els Navarros  ( Ontinyent,Valencia )

Altitude: 480 m

Type of Soil: Poor hillside soils, stony, calcareus.  

 

Crop density : 1.800 plants/Ha

Vineyard : 40 years old vineyards. 

Vine training systems: Wire – trained vines

Environment: Continental climate softened by the Mediterranean influence, with an average annual temperature of 15 degrees and a Mediterranean type rainfall regime.

Grape Varieties:  50% Merseguera, 50% Planta Nova

Vintage: 2024

Harvest: Manual harvest in mid October.

Pre-Cold Maceration:  1 day

Fermentation: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with native yeast fermented with grapes skins and seeds and susequent malolactic fermentation in Frenck oak barrels.

Fermentation Temperature: 12 – 15  ºC

Barrel Aging: Aged for 9 months in French oak barrels of 225 liters. 

Bottling Aging: Minimum of 6 months

Vinification: Clarifiers of vegetable origen have been used during the elaboration therefore it is suitable for vegan consumers.

Volatile Acidity: 0,2 g/l

Residual Sugar: < 2,5 g/l

An enticing nose showing a hint of smocked bacon, dried Mediterranean herbs and vanilla to the spiced lemons and nectarines. Pretty long 

and flavorful on the palate with a medium to full body. Fresh and a tard waxy in exture. Drink now.
